Context of the positionASML’s Development & Engineering sector is responsible for the specification, design and realization of all products in the ASML portfolio. Within this sector, the Light Sources group is responsible for development of light sources for ASML metrology and control systems which ensure optimal overlay, focus and throughput performance of ASML machines.

Job Description
As Design Engineer in the Light Sources group you will be a key player in a multidisciplinary environment that further develops the current and next generation light source for metrology and control systems within our products. We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following skills and capabilities:
- Develop and operate experimental hardware and software setups to test products are according to specification in lab / cleanroom.
- Development of opto-mechanical tools required during install and setup of the light source
- Integration, calibration and test of the optical light sources in our lithography systems
- Contribute and ensure specifications are measurable
- Contribute in modeling and experimental verification of light source performance
- Generate effective and creative optical solutions for improving the light source performance
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality of outsourced developments
- Support the production of these sources and their use by the final customers
You will work in close cooperation with colleagues from many disciplines in- and outside ASML. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are crucial in this dynamic environment. You will manage ASML internal stakeholders, and you will be in contact with suppliers and other external parties. You are expected to be flexible, ambitious, and willing to develop yourself.
Education
Technical University (Msc) or HBO (Bsc) in physics optical engineering or other technical area
Experience
- Talented Technical University (Msc) or HBO (Bsc) candidates, preferable with 3+ years of industry experience and working in multidisciplinary teams
- Solid knowledge in photonics, free space optics, fiber optics and lasers
- Hands-on experience with building, operating and troubleshooting electrical optical test setups
- Defining, implementing and testing CTQs, optical system failure modes and safety measures (is a pre)
- including means and methods on how to measure and optimize
- Solid background on design of experiments, data analysis and presentation
